CD. David Kauffman.
YESTERDAY
In the late 1930s, the twelve step program was born. It was developed by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith, and is based on the work of its predecessors, the Oxford Group.
Millions have benefitted from the program which uses 12 unique steps for healing and recovery from addiction.
TODAY
David Kauffman, a composer touched deeply by addiction, began writing songs to help him heal over 10 years ago. Recovery does not mean giving up. It means giving over. Entering recovery is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of enormous strength to renew oneself from top to bottom, from the inside out. The most powerful tool for the recovery and renewal of mind, body, heart, soul, and spirit is the 12-step program.
Each of the songs on this CD connect to each of the 12 steps. These songs do not simply retell the step, or set the step to music. They sing the subtleties before, during, and after each step is realized in your life.
David credits Linda Engelbrecht, counselor and friend, for her original insight and wisdom. Years ago, in a counseling session, she asked him the question that inspired these songs: “Are You Enough?”
May this music help you heal, and answer the question “Are You Enough?” with a simple, peaceful, “Yes!”
